The usual bustle
The clink and clank of a coffee mug
Friends asking strangers for extra chairs
Steam rising from every table
Watching every passerby a penny for a tampon
Two cats on a skateboarder
A different smell with every step
Wheeler up to Evans- this isn't mine yet
A cute girl
Then another
Then another
I like the sound of accelerating buses
The smell of your smoke
And the ring of my phone
But what I might like more is to be alone
To live a Henry Life to call my own

Happier When I'm High

It's a shame to know that I'm happier when I'm high
It's getting lonely being way up in the sky
And it's hard to love yourself when yourself's always running
It's a shame to know that I'm happier when I'm high

Oh, you know, I’m doing alright
Let’s smoke one more cigarette
And call it a night
Meet me outside on the street
We’ll get a ride home and stay up past three
Drinking and shooting the shit
Another year gone, a little less fit to be
Hanging around on my own
My dad still pays the bill for my phone
I can’t remember feeling this scared
I try to reach the future but nobody’s there
Heres to the friends who died young
When you see them in your dreams you know that they’re gone
And I don’t want my parents to die
Who’s going to love me when I can’t get it right
Being alive freaks me out
How can I be calm when there’s so much doubt
I try and I try again to tell myself I’m a normal human
But how can I act so at ease
When the world doesn’t love you
And your friends only live in your dreams
Well my beds way too empty at night
But Christmas is coming and so is your flight
Should we really do this again?
The first time around had an unhappy end
If the answer is a yes
The ceremony’s in a clear tent of latex
Followed by a chill ass bbq
With ice chests of beer and the usually crew
I try and I try again to tell myself I’m a normal human
But how can I act so at ease
When the world doesn’t love you
And your friends only live in your dreams
